Day 01 Chongqing Arrival

Arrive at Chongqing , you will be welcomed by your driver and guide, transfer to hotel for check in , then start sightseeing

  • E'Ling Cultural And Creative Second Factory, it is full of literary style, with a network of trendy coffee shops, bars and shops that has become a favorite of young locals. It was originally a currency printing location for the Chinese Central Bank, it has many years of history. The park is now a meeting point of interesting technological and cultural visual style, making it a favorite of young people looking for something unique and innovative.
  • E'Ling Park, it is a free public park in the center of Chongqing. Sitting in the two river pavilions in the park, you can see the scenery of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. This is a good place to overlook the night views of Chongqing. One of the best locations for taking pictures of Chongqing's urban scenery
  • Conclude your day with a dinner featuring Chongqing’s famous cuisine. Opt for a local hot pot restaurant to enjoy a flavorful and interactive dining experience, or explore other popular dishes like Chongqing noodles or grilled skewers.

Day 02 Chongqing Cultural Exploration and City Views
  • Travel to Ciqikou Ancient Town, a historic area with well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture.Explore the ancient streets, visit local shops, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of this charming town.
  • Head to the Chongqing Three Gorges Museum to delve into the region’s history and culture. The museum offers insightful exhibits on the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Dam, and local heritage. Explore the well-curated displays and learn about the impact of the dam on the environment and people.
  • Chongqing Crown Grand Escalator, is Asia’s second longest escalator with the whole ride
  • Experience the City’s railway transit through a building, popular among tourists due to its unusual way of transit
  • Hongya Cave.the whole place is built on a cliff and the view is fantastic. It is located in the heart of the Jiefangbei business center, as well as the intersection of the Yangtze River  and the Jialing River. The buildings are mainly in the Chongqing stilted style. The place is divided into many levels, containing restaurants, markets, shops and hotels.
  • Yangtze River Cruise (Optional) If time allows, consider taking a short cruise on the Yangtze River. Many options are available, from brief scenic cruises to longer tours. Enjoy panoramic views of Chongqing’s skyline and the surrounding hills, and experience the city's beauty from the water.

Day 03 Chongqing-Wulong National Park -Chongqing

Start your day early by departing from Chongqing to Wulong, which is approximately 130 kilometers away and takes around 2 to 2.5 hours by car or bus. The scenic drive offers glimpses of the mountainous landscape that sets the stage for your adventure.

Begin your exploration at the Three Natural Bridges, a stunning geological formation featuring three colossal limestone arches spanning deep gorges. The area is renowned for its dramatic scenery and natural beauty. Take a leisurely walk along the well-maintained paths and observation decks to fully appreciate the grandeur of these natural wonders. Don’t forget your camera to capture the breathtaking views.

Next, head to Furong Cave, also known as the "Butterfly Cave" due to its unique shape. This cave system features impressive stalactites, stalagmites, and underground rivers. Take a guided tour through the illuminated cave to marvel at the intricate formations created over millennia. The cool, damp environment inside the cave offers a refreshing contrast to the outdoor heat.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near the park. Local specialties include Sichuan cuisine, known for its bold flavors and spiciness. Try dishes like spicy hot pot or mapo tofu for an authentic taste of the region.

After lunch, make your way to the Houping Giant Doline, an enormous sinkhole surrounded by lush greenery. The doline is an impressive natural depression with steep walls and a rich ecosystem. Take a walk around the edge and venture into the observation platforms to soak in panoramic views of the doline and surrounding karst terrain.

Begin your journey back to Chongqing. Conclude your day trip with a relaxing evening in Chongqing. Consider dining at one of the city’s renowned hot pot restaurants or exploring local nightlife to unwind after a day of adventure.

Day 04 Chongqing-Dazu Rock Carvings-Leaving

Start your day early with a drive or bus ride from Chongqing to Dazu County. The distance is about 100 kilometers, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Private cars or guided tours can offer a more comfortable and flexible experience.

Arrive at the Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its extensive collection of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian sculptures. Head to the main visitor center to purchase tickets and get a map of the site.

Begin your visit at Baodingshan, the most famous site among the Dazu Rock Carvings. This area features a vast collection of Buddhist sculptures and inscriptions carved into cliffs dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). Key highlights include:

  • Great Buddha: Admire the impressive 17-meter-long reclining Buddha and the detailed carvings surrounding it.
  • The Thousand-Handed Avalokitesvara: Marvel at this extraordinary depiction of the Avalokitesvara with multiple arms, symbolizing compassion and the ability to help countless beings.
  • The Ten Kings of Hell: Observe the vivid and dramatic carvings illustrating the ten kings of hell and their punishments, reflecting ancient Chinese beliefs about the afterlife.

After exploring Baodingshan, head to the Dazu Rock Carvings Museum nearby. This museum provides valuable context and historical background on the carvings and their significance. It offers insights into the techniques used by ancient sculptors and the cultural and religious beliefs that influenced their work.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Dazu County. Sample regional specialties, such as Sichuan-style dishes, known for their bold flavors and spiciness. A typical meal might include dishes like Mapo Tofu or Kung Pao Chicken.

After lunch, proceed to Beishan, another significant site of the Dazu Rock Carvings. This site features:

  • The Twelve Divine Generals: Intricate carvings of Taoist deities and divine generals, showcasing traditional Chinese religious art.
  • Scenes of Daily Life: The carvings depict various aspects of daily life during the Tang and Song Dynasties, offering a glimpse into historical customs and traditions.
